From Boston

Take Mass. Rt. 128 to Mass. Rt. 24 South through Fall River into Rhode Island. Take the Route 138 exit for Middletown and beaches. After 15-20 minutes, turn left at the sign for Route 138A. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light and bear right around the curve onto Memorial Blvd. Continue past the beach and up the hill. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Bellevue Avenue. Take the fifth right onto Catherine Street (across from the Viking Hotel). The John Easton House is the third yellow Victorian house on the right. Off-street parking is available. Travel time is approximately 1 1/2 hours.

From New York

Take I-95 North to Rhode Island. Take exit 3A onto Route 138 East. Travel approximately thirty minutes, turn left at the light where Rt. 138 briefly joins U.S. Route 1. Then take the exit for Rt. 138 East to Newport. You will cross the Jamestown Verrazano Bridge and the Newport (Pell) Bridge ($2.00 toll). Take the first exit from the Newport Bridge. Turn right at the stop sign. Proceed to the second light, bear left onto Farewell Street. At stop sign, bear right, continue straight through 2 stop signs. When you see Banana Republic turn left onto Turo Street and continue up the hill. The Viking Hotel and Church Street will be on your right. Turn left at Church Street (Church Street becomes Catherine Street). The John Easton House (23 Catherine Street) is the third large yellow Victorian on the right. Off-street parking is available. Travel time is approximately 3 1/2 hours.

From T. F. Green Airport

Take I-95 South. Get into the left lanes immediately. Take the exit for RI Route 4. Shortly after it merges with U.S. Route 1, take the exit for RI Route 138 East to Newport. Proceed according to directions from New York. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes.
